Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant files, 1941-2003.

Facility blueprints, company newspapers, photographs, reports, procedures, and other printed material documenting a small arms and artillery ammunition plant operated by Federal Cartridge Corporation in Arden Hills, Minnesota, from 1942 to 1992. Photographs, mainly of machinery and building sites but including work stoppages/labor strikes and some personnel, constitute the collection's bulk. Reports include both fire and explosion investigations (1952) and standard operating procedures (1966, 1969). Begun as the Twin Cities Ordnance Plant, the site was renamed the Arsenal (1946) and the Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant (1963).

The Twin Cities Ordnance Plant (TCOP) was established in 1941 as part of the War Department’s government-owned, contractor-operated war materials production program.
